We’ve been on trail for the past two days. I really love it out here. The Sequoias are such a hidden gem. Today is the 4th of July, which means tomorrow is my birthday and today is the last day of being 32. I’m really glad Janelle invited me on this last minute trip. I kind of wanted to be alone on my birthday, but this turned out to be way better than I thought! So far, we’ve hiked 27-miles over the past two days and we still have 11 more to go!
My heart is so full.
This year has been nothing I imagined it would be, but that’s usually how it always turns out, right?
33. I know age is just a number, but 33?! And I’m still out here, 8 years later, doing what I love with only the future of adventure to look forward to. Some days are harder than others, but I’ll admit- I like a good challenge. Tomorrow is not only my birthday, but it’s also a Full Moon. Talk about new beginnings. How special is that?! Unfortunately, we will have completed our hike, but at least I can enjoy the special night at home on our balcony.
I feel complete out here. How special is it to be doing exactly what I love, on my special day. I wish we could stay an extra day. We’ll pass one last lake before completing our loop. I plan to jump in for a quick birthday celebration. But first, one last alpine dip of 32. As I wash away the deet from body, and my spirit clean; I prepare for new beginnings.♡
