THINGS TO DO & PLACES TO VISIT
📍Truth or Consequences
♨️ SOAK and stay at Riverbend Hot Springs!
Soak in natural hot springs at Riverbend Hot Springs which is located right along the Rio Grande River! Private soaks are available and there are options to stay at the resort or RV overnight parking. Reservations are recommended. In addition to staying at the resort, you get to soak in the common pools for the remainder of your stay!
📍 Las Cruces
🏕️ CAMP and climb at City of Rocks State Park.
City of Rocks State Park in Faywood, New Mexico is a unique recreation area that provides overnight camping as well as, hiking, and climbing. Furthermore, reservations are recommended for overnight camping.
🥾 HIKE and explore White Sands National Park.
The best time to visit White Sands National Park is during the fall and winter months when the weather is just right. However, the park is open year-round, so there’s a lot more time to explore! For instance, you can rent a sled for the sand dunes and have a picnic at the picnic sites. Ultimately, you will want to stay for sunset, however, its important to remember that there is NO camping in the national park.
📍 Farmington, New Mexico
🌅 CATCH SUNSET and star gaze at Angel Peak Scenic Area.
Northern New Mexico has some very unique landscapes and a place like Angel Peak Scenic Area is surely one of them! On my Southwest Roadie with Wandervans, this was truly one of my favorites! Not only is Angel Peak Campground free and managed by BLM, but here, there are 9 campsite sites with fire pits and restrooms available. With that in mind, it’s important to note that campsites are first-come, first-served and there are no electrical or water hookups available. For this reason, please plan accordingly!
📸 PHOTO OPs and get creative at Bisti/ De-Na-Zin Wilderness area!
Speaking of unique landscapes, you won’t want to miss the tabletop hoodoos or rock formations over at Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness! This place had been on my list for quite sometime, so for that reason, you’d think I would do the proper research prior to arriving. In other words- PLEASE, don’t be like me. DO the research, avoid getting lost, and use a GPS or tracker to get back to your vehicle. Additionally, there are NO maintained trails in Bisti Wilderness. Definetly have a plan and let someone know when you plan return.
