Mount Whitney was the shit! Not a bad climb from Guitar Lake and I didn’t have to summit solo! JMT DONE! Safely made it down to Whitney Portal!

Just as I was about to fall asleep around 7 PM last night ‘Hey Vanessa Renee!” I heard on the trail heading… my way?
I wish you could see where I’m journaling from this morning. This campsite was the literal cherry on the top from yesterday’s hike over Forester.
What a day. Charlotte Ranger station saved my JMT trip! I didn’t have to hike an extra 15 miles + climb Kearsarge Pass-twice, just to get more food lol!
Started earlyish today, like 8:45 I believe. Pinchot Pass wasn’t too bad, but I thought it was going to be easier, lol! It was all downhill after that.
Today I met Ranger Sam. Right before calling a NERO and backtracking about .5 miles from Mather Pass, I ran into Ranger Sam.
Sweet camping spot tonight at Le Conte Canyon. Pretty sure I’m like 30 ft. from the creek though.
Wasn’t tired to stop, but needed water before reaching the ranger station. Don’t know why, just feel like I might get caught up talking with people.
This place is magical, I’m telling ya. Getting to MTR was awesome. My resupply was everything I needed it to be.
Early morning journaling today. Tried to sleep in, but my body is restless. Feet are tired, not sure, body’s a little sore, but honestly no real complaints.
I’m not even sure how I did 11.47 miles today, but you know what- it sure in hell feels like it. Started the day late, at 10 AM.
Just finished cooking dinner: garlic creamy shells w/broccoli. I know, I was supposed to have burritos tonight, but I think I’ll make it to VVR tomorrow.
Back on the JMT. Solo this time and I’m not sure how I feel about it so far. Loving my new 1P tent. Ice cream + beer at Reds before hitting the trail at 3 PM.
Journaling from my bed tonight. I’m home for the next 2 days for Uncle Fred’s funeral. We made it to Reds Meadow today and the hike was pretty much downhill into Mammoth.
Finally, an afternoon to just chill! This morning was nice. After last night near encounter with a bear, I think we were both just ready to ditch that spot.
